New Sponsorship Launched with Sport Aberdeen

Our long-standing track record of supporting sporting initiatives and creating opportunities for young people continues with our latest partnership. We have teamed up with Sport Aberdeen’s Adventure Aberdeen Snowsports Centre to deliver free skiing lessons for up to 20 Primary 5 classes across Aberdeen City local authority schools. As a former pupil at Aberdeen’s Woodside Primary who learnt to ski, it is a scheme that means a lot to our Managing Director, Jim Stewart.

“Putting something back into the community is really important to me, and RAM Tubulars has supported a variety of worthy sporting causes over the years. We’ve built-up a business based on identifying new opportunities, and I like to apply this ethos to community projects too, opening doors to new opportunities for personal development.”

Children at the selected schools may not have otherwise had the chance to learn to ski, so the programme presents a unique opportunity for them to try something new, enhance their social skills and have fun. The first block of lessons is due to kick-off on April 26th, with 15 schools having already expressed an interest.

Graeme Dale, Head of Sport and Active Communities, said: “We are delighted that RAM Tubulars has chosen to sponsor one of our ‘Learn to Ski’ programmes, providing local children with the opportunity to take part in free ski lessons. “Skiing is a great sport for improving balance and coordination as well as a means to have fun in a social environment and gain more confidence along the way. “This is a fantastic opportunity for local children and we are grateful to RAM Tubulars for the sponsorship.”
